Job Summary The Laboratory Professional is responsible for performing general lab activities including maintenance of laboratory environment, assisting faculty in developing exercises, and supervising lab exercises. Responsibilities

• Assist faculty in developing and supervising lab exercises for students
• Install, maintain, and repair lab equipment for Engineering Technology programs
• Write laboratory equipment specifications and requisitions to place orders for laboratory equipment and supplies
• Maintains laboratory facilities in good working order by keeping equipment clean and reporting equipment failures
• Recommends necessary repairs and supplies to the department chair
• Adjust, calibrate and operate lab equipment
• Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment, supplies, and lab instructional materials
• Arranges for laboratory repairs as necessary
• Coordinates and instructs students in the proper use of equipment
• Assist faculty in developing and supervising lab exercises for students
• May supervise student workers and other staff as required
• May be required to perform job related duties other than those specifically delineated in this position

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or a closely related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or closely related field
• Three (3) years of experience maintaining laboratory equipment, operating laboratory equipment, or related experience
• Familiar with computer software that is currently used in the academic programs of the department
