Description:

The Department of Theater at Dartmouth College (Hanover, NH) invites applications for a non-tenure-track Lecturer for a 9-month appointment, beginning September 1, 2024. The person in this position will teach four courses over three quarters (Fall, Winter, Spring). The course assignment will include: two survey courses in theater history (Classical and Medieval Performance; Early Modern Performance), one course related to the candidate’s area of specialization, and one course-equivalent for mentoring student directors throughout the year. The position comes with a competitive salary and pro-rated benefits.

Qualifications:

PhD in theater, performance studies, or a closely related field; ABDs will also be considered, with proof of thesis defense by Sept 1, 2024. Teaching experience in theater history as well as directing experience are strongly preferred. The department welcomes innovative teaching approaches that bridge theater studies and practice.
