JOB DUTIES:



Position Summary


The Library Systems Assistant will provide a wide range of complex support for library technology and systems, course reserve service and collection, and assist with general maintenance activities of the library¿s physical collections.



QUALIFICATIONS:



Required Qualifications



  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to think critically, analyze problems, and develop and implement creative solutions
  • The ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology
  • Ability to utilize technology including software applications, web-based tools, and mobile devices
  • Ability to have a strong commitment to library customer service
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, library practices and procedures


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor¿s degree.
  • Experience working in a library.
  • Experience working with an integrated library system (e.g., ExLibris Alma/Primo).

Terms of Employment


This is an on-going University Staff position, non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is required to serve a six-month probation period.


The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment. University sponsorship is not available for this position.
