ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Administrator 2 (Lands Coordinator) within the Division of Wildlife assigned to Franklin county. The address is 2045 Morse Road Columbus, OH 43229. To learn more about the Division of Wildlife please visit

What you will do:

  • Manage, coordinate and monitor the Division of Wildlife’s (DOW) statewide real property program and initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between the DOW and federal partners to apply for, manage and execute grant projects making most efficient use of grant funding and required match.
  • Compile project information from program and field staff and coordinates with Office of Real Estate to submit project initiating work requests, (e.g., land acquisitions, donations, trades, leases, licenses, building removals and surveys), and ensure that real property records reflect funding and program in DNR records and deeds.
  • Coordinate land actions (e.g. utility or road right of way changes, management agreements, mitigation, permits) with internal and external customers to ensure compliance and value is documented and reported.
  • Prepare and submit project compliance, (e.g. ESA, NEPA, SHPO, annual assurances), summarize and analyze financial data using OAKS reports, create and submit performance and financial report, and verify and pay invoices for statewide assessments and annual taxes.
  • The natural resources areas of specialty for this position are natural sciences, wildlife biology, fisheries or aquatic biology, forestry and environmental science.

Starting hourly pay of $32.51/ hour with multiple pay increases over your first 8 years of service and an ending hourly pay of $46.25/hour.

Qualifications


54 months of training or 54 months of experience in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description AND valid driver’s license.



  • OR completion of an undergraduate major core program AND 30 months of experience in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description AND valid driver’s license.


  • OR completion of graduate major core program AND 18 months of experience in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description AND valid driver’s license.


  • OR 6 months of experience as Natural Resources Administrator 1, 22911, in assigned area AND valid driver’s license.


  • OR equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above. NOTE: If assigned to work as Law Enforcement Officer, must also hold Ohio Peace Officers Training Council certificate. For positions assigned to perform law enforcement duties, applicants must successfully pass background check by appointing authority that includes polygraph, psychological & medical examination. Applicant must demonstrate physical fitness as outlined in department directive. Final applicant accepted for position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicant with positive test result will not be offered employment per Section 123:1-76-09 Ohio Administrative Code.
