Job Summary:
The Cardiac Rehab RN is responsible for exercise monitoring, education, and assessment of patients enrolled in the Cardiac Rehabilitation program. They function to facilitate and deliver quality care and rehabilitation therapy to patients with select Cardiac diagnosis and events.
Duties/Responsibilities but not limited to:
Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, running patient exercise sessions, performing in-patient assessments for future referrals to the program, teaching patient education classes; set up exercise sessions and equipment.
Maintains consistency of patient care in an unpredictably changing environment by making nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and experience.
Assesses patient status upon entry into program and throughout enrollment and document in a clear, concise, legible, and accurate manner.
Assists medical director in following through with individualized exercise prescriptions and providing education and support for Cardiac rehabilitation patients (including taking and recording vital signs and documentation of exercise sessions in recording system) and collaboratively work as a team member of the HVC and promote staff and patient satisfaction.
Maintains statistics for department, provides data to hospital departments as needed.
Demonstrates effective, professional, polite, friendly and courteous oral and written communication in all team, visitor and patient interactions.
Performs responsibilities associated with clinical operations of the Cardiac Rehab Program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent, NYS RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years acute care post licensure nursing experience (preferably in cardiac care). CPR/BLS certification required by the time of appointment. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS certification preferred but not required. If no ACLS will need to obtain within 6 months of hire. Experience in Cardiac Care with telemetry.
Work Days:
Monday - Friday, Days-Flexible
