The Work You Will Do Operations and Management Consultant Manager-SES (37000505) The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks, is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong Human Resource skills, as well as administrative, supervisory and team player skills, to join our dynamic team in Division Director’s Office as the Human Resource Manager. Pay $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 Annually Monthly (commensurate with experience) Your Specific Responsibilities This is work planning and managing the Human Resource Section in the Division of Recreation and Parks. Responsible for administrative and consultative work involving the coordination of administrative tasks and/or a wide variety of assignments which are complex in nature. A high degree of accuracy and confidentiality is essential in this position, along with knowledge, interpretation and compliance of department, division and personnel rules and directive. Analyzes internal processes and procedures and implements program-wide procedural changes to improve the Human Resources operations. Coordinates and assists in the administration of activities related to staffing, employment and other pertinent human resource areas. Serves as liaison between the Division of Recreation and Parks and Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Human Resource Management regarding these issues. Serves as the PeopleFirst PAR liaison. Provides daily consultation and assistance to management and staff on the current status of employees, staffing, housing, pay, etc. Develops and maintains extensive databases. Prepares a variety of special reports upon request by management staff. Keeps updated on current policies, rules and directives that have a direct impact on human resource administration. Provides daily consultation and guidance to Division staff and supervisors for all areas of human resources including employee relations issues. Represents the Human Resource section at various meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences to obtain and furnish information. Drafts memoranda, answer telephone inquiries regarding employment and provide park information to prospective employees. Coordinates the Division’s statewide perquisite program and statewide-authorized housing occupancy list for perquisite verification/approval with DEP’s Bureau of Human Resource Management and DMS. Performs related work as required. Knowledge Of Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic principles of administrative and human resource administration.
  • Computer and related software.
  • Principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.
Ability To
  • Utilize problem solving techniques.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to administration and human resource program functions.
