Process financial transactions in accordance with State and University policies
procedures.

Purpose of the Position:

This position will support and assist the payroll staff in ensuring all payroll activities
are performed, including but not limited to keying batches for special payments, deductions and adjustments. It will serve as the primary contact for Cardinal timesheets. It will also greet employees and provide front line assistance to walk-in traffic, maintain files, and records retention worksheets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position:

Proficient computer skills in databases, word processing and spreadsheets
Knowledge of payroll practices and procedures
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organization skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently
Proficient in use of office equipment (typewriter, calculator, personal computer, etc)

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent Experience Required: Experience processing financial data in a business setting.
Previous customer service experience. Previous data entry experience. Experience
with word processing and spreadsheet software. Additional Consideration(s):

Education Preferred: College coursework in Business or related field Experience Preferred: Experience in a college/university setting utilizing HRIS and Cardinal. Microsoft Word and Excel experience. Role Code:

Starting at $18.25 per hour

Conditions of Employment:

This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period; Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program. Number of Vacancies:
