Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a corrosion engineer to join East West Pipelines Department (EWPD). 

EWPD is responsible for crude stabilization and storage as well as transporting hydrocarbons from East to West and South of Saudi Arabia through a network of pipelines, pumps and compression stations.

The primary role of corrosion engineer within Pipelines/EWPD is to minimize assets degradation by deploying PD&T and company established programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in new facilities design review and ensure compliance with SA engineering standards from corrosion and materials selection stand point.
  • Review facilities mothballing and preservation procedures and ensure SAEP-43 provisions are met.
  • Develop corrosion control document in line with SAEP-88.
  • Conduct annual review of dead-legs within EWPD in accordance with 00-SAIP-01.
  • Work diligently to enhance EWPD Corrosion Control Compliance Index score by identifying Areas for Improvements (AFIs) and developing short- and long-term plans to address the AFIs.
  • Plan annual on-stream scraping.
  • Track on-stream scraping progress and support operation in evaluating the impact of deferred on-stream scraping runs.
  • Review on-stream scraping report filled by operation post scraping.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of on-stream scraping for each pipeline.
  • Coordinate sampling activities part of the on-stream scraping process.
  • Evaluate sampling results and issue recommendations.
  • Communicate with upstream facilities for any out of specs streams.
  • Review internal corrosion, evaluate different chemical treatment alternatives, select the proper chemical product and specify the dosage for each pipeline.

Minimum Requirements

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized and approved program.
  • Certified API-571 or NACE CP-4 and Certified NACE corrosion Specialist.
  • +8 years of experience in oil and gas industry, including at least 1 year in corrosion related fields.

    4. Conditional Offer:

    A successful interview may result in a conditional offer of employment.
