Job Description - PM RESORT HOUSEKEEPER hr

Job Title: PM RESORT HOUSEKEEPER

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

Rate of Pay: $18.00/Hour

Shift: Variable Shifts Monday - Sunday

FTYR Benefited Positions - 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (4-5 shifts/week)

Special event evenings (concerts, theatre, full moon lift rides 2 pm - midnight)

PT Year Round and Seasonal positions also available

SUMMARY

The PM Resort Housekeeper provides general cleanliness of the resort public areas, turndown service for lodging guests, attends to guest requests and cleans rooms as needed. Safely drives a Sundance vehicle in order to attend to guests' requests in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintains resort premises in clean and orderly manner according to standards.

Responsible for checking in and out keys and radios from the safety office.

Check in and out Sundance vehicle to carry out daily duties ensuring cleanliness and follows Sundance safety vehicle guidelines.

Comply with the no-idling policy.

Check in daily by 2:00 PM with Housekeeping Management to receive assignments for the shift.

Provide evening turndown service to all guest rooms, suites, VIP rooms and any other noted rooms which includes cleaning the room as well as leaving amenities for the guest.

Complete any special requests made by the guest or the supervisor throughout their shift.

Change and replace used linen and terry, change dirty glasses, remove all trash and recycling, turn on radio, close the drapes and turn down the beds in all guest rooms and suites.

Separate recyclables from trash and place them in appropriate receptacles.

Set heating and cooling thermostats when guests are not present.

Perform the tasks of a Guest Room Attendant or Houseperson as needed to facilitate service.

Immediately turn in all lost and found items to supervisor.

Report any faulty equipment to supervisor and/or maintenance.

Report any suspicious activities to Safety and supervisor or front desk.

Assist with cleaning of any public areas as needed.

May assist with stripping dirty linens in departed rooms for increased efficiency of room attendants.

Comply with no-idling policy.

Support the recycling program and assists and educates guests as needed.

Scrubs, waxes, and vacuums floors; shakes out rugs and spot clean carpets .

Washes baseboards, windowsills, door, panels, and woodwork.

Ensure trash and recycle bins and ash trays are emptied daily.

Separate recyclables from trash and place them in appropriate receptacles.

Transport them to the appropriate disposal area.

Responsible for upkeep of public areas bathrooms through replenishing toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, and daily cleaning of toilets, urinals, walls, sinks, counters, and floors in all public resort restrooms.

Keeps housekeeping closets clean and stocked at all times.

Responsible for removing all trash from the housekeeping closets at the end of each shift.

Vacuums, dusts, and removes trash from the Front Desk on a daily basis.

Maintains all meeting/conference room spaces through sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting on a daily basis.

Maintains employee bathrooms once/day: disinfect sink and toilet, mop and replenish paper items

Keep housekeeping storage closets stocked.

Fulfill guest requests within fifteen minutes.

Keep radio on to effectively communicate with supervisors at all times.

Change light bulbs as needed.

Take dirty linen and trash and recycling from the housekeeping closets to the appropriate containers.

Lock linen closets at the end of the day.

Follow Sundance Housekeeping protocols for cleanliness and safety.

Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.

DRESS CODE

Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. As representatives of Sundance all employees including mangers are expected to be in compliance with the Dress Code determined for his/her department as defined in the job description or follow the standards below.

In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:

All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.

Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.

Clothing must be unwrinkled, clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).

Blue jeans are permitted.

Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.

A tailored fit is required of all clothing.

Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.

Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.

Bare midriffs are prohibited.

Dress sandals are permitted.

Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.

Tennis shoes are permitted, but must be in good repair and not too flashy.

Fashion sneakers are allowed within department approved parameters.

The Housekeeping Uniform consists of the following:

Blue jeans or Khaki pants (without fancy embroidery)

Sundance issued shirt, sweatshirt, or coat.

Accommodations

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous housekeeping experience is preferred.

Knowledge of carpet shampoo and window washing a plus.

TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

Operate 2-way radios for communication to other staff.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid U.S. drivers' license in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read a limited number of two‑ and three‑syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
