Job ID: 251804 Position #: 40041467 Augusta University College of Nursing invites applications for full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track positions. This position is for a Professor level Nursing faculty member. We are the state's flagship nursing program, enrolling more than 1000 students on two campuses and at numerous academic-practice partner sites. The College of Nursing, an integral component of the University System of Georgia is part of the state's only publicly-funded comprehensive academic health science center including schools of medicine, dentistry, and allied health sciences. The College of Nursing is adjacent to Augusta University Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Georgia, Georgia Cancer Center, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, providing ample opportunity for clinical experiences for students and faculty. Additionally, the college has a thriving Nurse-Managed Health Center, affording additional clinical practice and teaching opportunities focused on primary care, telehealth and behavioral health. The college offers the full degree spectrum including BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs. As a College of Nursing faculty member, you will enjoy:

  • Course coordination, evaluation, didactic teaching primarily in the Pre-Licensure Program
  • Participate in curricular development and evaluation
  • Chair and provide leadership for select College of Nursing committees
  • Participate as active member university committees
  • Mentor faculty and students in DNP projects
  • Serve as dissertation committee major advisor/chair (PhD prepared faculty)
  • Engage in scholarly publications (peer-reviewed manuscripts, national professional organization service)
  • Mentor junior faculty
  • Other responsibilities will vary by program (Pre-Licensure, DNP, PhD)
Required Qualifications


Doctorate degree relevant to the area of practice (PhD, DNP) Active license to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia. Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations. Preferred Qualifications


    Academic teaching experience in didactic and/or clinical instruction Comfort with technology-infused engaging pedagogical strategies including simulation and other active learning modalities.     This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
