Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Program Assistant II is broadly responsible for carrying out routine research and clerical support for HICOR faculty and their research teams. The position will primarily be responsible for meeting organization, data entry, appointment scheduling and preparation and distribution/mailing of study communications and supplies. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager, referring project/study issues on and/or soliciting guidance as necessary. This position will work closely with HICOR project coordinators. The position involves direct contact with study participants, as part of the essential duties, including scheduling patient interviews.

Responsibilities

May perform some or all of the following responsibilities:

  • General clerical duties : drafting correspondence and meeting minutes, proofreading materials, data entry, scheduling appointments, organizing meetings, conference and meeting registration, electronic file organization, website maintenance, ordering supplies and services.
  • Support study recruitment and enrollment efforts : schedule study appointments for consenting, study onboarding, and interviews. May receive training to conduct informed consent discussions with potential study participants.
  • Research study support : make reminder and follow-up calls to participants, track participant activities in research databases (RedCAP, Clinical Trial Management System), data entry of research forms. Assist with manuscript, poster and presentation submissions to journals and conference organizers. May receive training to conduct participant research interviews as needed.
  • Other study support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a related field.
  • Enjoy working with and talking to people.
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills with good attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communicator.
  • Experienced using MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Com

  • BA or BS in a related field.
  • Experience working with patients in a research or healthcare setting.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $23.32 to $33.20 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
