The mission of University Advancement is to secure support for NC State University in terms of dollars, service, and engagement by delivering an integrated program of development, alumni relations, communications and marketing, and advancement services. Our objective is to build deep and long-term relationships with alumni and other stakeholders and partners that will ensure increased support to NC State in the future.
Advancement Services provides timely, accurate, and actionable resources to enhance fundraising and engagement activities at NC State University. We achieve this through effective business intelligence and reporting, compelling donor research and analysis, innovative technology, quality donor and alumni information, and superior customer service, all while applying ethical gift and data management practices. Advancement Services supports the operations of Alumni Relations, University Development and University Communications. The unit oversees the University’s alumni and donor database, AdvanceTM, Advance BI systems, processing gifts and conducting research about potential contribution opportunities. Advancement Services also maintains financial records, conducts donor research, receipts corporate & individual private gifts following the NC State Standard Operating Procedures for Acceptance of Gifts, administers the corporate matching gifts program, updates & verifies alumni records, manages donor prospect tracking systems, plans and manages gift agreements & endowment reports.
The Office of Prospect Development is a subunit of Advancement Services, one of four departments managed by University Advancement (UA). Prospect Development’s mission is to enhance NC State’s philanthropic endeavors by partnering with fundraisers to deliver timely information, moves management, and data and prospect analysis. In doing so, we maximize the opportunity for private funding that benefits students, faculty, and the university’s strategic priorities.
We function as two teams with one unified goal. The Prospect Research side develops estimated capacity ratings, providing valuable asset and giving information at the right time of the donor cycle, and engages in suspect identification activities through proactive research. The Prospect Management side completes the team by performing moves management system updates, providing complex analysis, and reviewing portfolios to ensure standards and activity goals are being met.
NC State seeks a Prospect Development Analyst with a focus on prospect research. The successful candidate will have exceptional judgment and the ability to multitask and embrace change, as well as the ability to work strategically with our partners in Development to maximize returns on solicitations and gifts for the university. This position involves work with highly confidential information and complete discretion is required. Excellent attention to detail, decision-making, and time management skills is also required. The primary purpose of the Prospect Development Analyst position is to research, analyze, and communicate relevant information on individuals, corporations, and foundations that can be strategically applied throughout the development cycle. The Prospect Development Analyst reports to the Associate Director of Prospect Development and partners with college and unit-based development personnel, as well as other Advancement Services staff, to accomplish each unit’s goals.
