The University of Michigan is one of the highest ranked public universities in the United States and one of the world's preeminent research institutions. The School of Kinesiology is the fourth-largest undergraduate admitting school at the university with approximately 1,000 students across our three majors: Applied Exercise Science, Movement Science, and Sport Management. In Fall 2023, the National Academy of Kinesiology ranked our doctoral program as #1 in the US . We are housed in a recently renovated 250,000 square foot building.

Under the direction of our Managing Director of Recruitment and Admissions, the Recruitment Coordinator will develop and implement the school's undergraduate student recruitment plan. You will provide high-level customer service to prospective undergraduate students and support application review, event management, and recruitment.

This is an onsite position with potential for a hybrid/remote option up to 2 days/week. The standard schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities. There may be some flexibility with the standard hours; any requests are at the supervisor's discretion to approve. The general salary range is $52,000 - $57,000. An offer may be extended outside of this range based on equity, experience, knowledge, and skills.   • Develop, execute, and administer the School of Kinesiolog's recruitment plan with the Managing Director of Recruitment and Admissions and school leadership
  • Develop and execute recruitment events with the Managing Director of Recruitment and Admissions, including monitoring registration for information sessions, scheduling personalized visits and tours, reserving rooms, communicating to guests about parking and campus resources, and coordinating event evaluation and quality improvement
  • Support targeted recruitment programming efforts of historically marginalized students
  • Represent the School at on- and off-campus recruitment events
  • Counsel prospective first-year and transfer students on the educational planning and career opportunities
  • Manage and track a large volume of calls and written inquiries from prospective students
  • Perform an initial review of transfer applications        
  • Oversee the financial aid awards selection process for continuing/current students
  • Review first-year applications for scholarship consideration
  • Administer the Student Ambassador Program, which involves the selection, training, and recognition of volunteer peer ambassadors that assist with the recruitment process
  • Approach this work according to our Core Values with a commitment to diversity, inclusion, justice, and equity
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with project and/or event management
  • Experience working with diverse communities and cultures or underrepresented minority populations
  • Experience in a customer service-oriented position
  • Experience with public speaking and delivering presentations
  • Experience with data analysis
