Job Description - Registered Nurse Manager

Description & Requirements Maximus is seeking an experienced leader and skilled operations strategist for the Children and Youth Evaluation Service (C-YES). The Nurse Manager is responsible for supervising the Nurse Evaluators in designated regions, reviewing clinical documentation for completeness, accuracy and consistency and promoting project image and goals through public speaking engagements and local professional presentations. About Children & Youth Evaluation Services The Children and Youth Evaluation Service (C-YES) is a New York State Program that determines Home and Community Based Service/Level of Care (HCBS/LOC) eligibility for youth with medical, behavioral, and/or developmental needs aged 0-21 years. The C-YES program also provides Medicaid application assistance services to children who appear HCBS eligible and are either without Medicaid and/or have Medicaid but opt out of HH Care Management. C-YES also develops person-centered Plans of Care (POCs) and provides ongoing HCBS service coordination for those families who elect to remain with C-YES and opt out of more comprehensive case management provided by Health Home Care Management Staff. HCBS are meant to help youths remain in their community as opposed to going to a higher level of care (i.e., facility or institution). A Care Coordination team comprised of Nurse Evaluators and Family Support Coordinators are responsible for ongoing support to all families referred to C-YES. **This is a hybrid remote position that will support the Syracuse, New York area. Travel may be required at times and will include home visits for assessment purposes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Serve as the lead content knowledge expert concerning the review and research of provided clinical information. - Perform clinical case reviews and consultations - Provide direct supervision to assigned team of nursing and/or other clinical staff - Provide subject matter expertise related to medical necessity and level of care criteria and application thereof - Provides education and clinical training to staff in area of expertise - Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of practice is required - Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required - Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience - Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred - Leadership skills including the ability to support a team of diverse staff; ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-orien ted work environment - Ability to work effectively with technology in the workplace - Ability to adapt to new technology and process changes and support others with such changes - Knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of general professional nursing - Knowledge of state and agency laws and regulations governing general professional nursing practices - Excellent o rganizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills - Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations - Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the concerns of others - Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously - Strong ability to work independently - 4+ years RN experience in behavioral health care - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience in lieu of degree - Active RN License in the state of New York - Minimum of five years of experience working in community settings involving health and human services - Experience working with constituent groups; experience successfully working with community groups to review health status questions and make evaluations and determinations based on the UAS-CANS-NY system criteria for enrollment and development of Plans of Cares - Home health care experience - Willingness to travel required; NY State Driver's License required; vehicle may be required, depending on region - 1-3 years supervisory/le adership experience preferred #NYMC #NYMCRegisteredNurse EEO Statement EEO Statement: Active military service members, their spouses, and veteran candidates often embody the core competencies Maximus deems essential, and bring a resiliency and dependability that greatly enhances our workforce.
