The School of Aerospace Engineering () at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a Research Engineer in aerospace engineering to support sponsored research projects in the aerospace domain, with specific emphasis on spacecraft optical navigation, astrodynamics, and space instrumentation.

The research faculty member will support sponsored research projects related to cognitive systems engineering projects. Responsibilities Project administration. Execute research tasks. Engage with research sponsors. Coordinate with vendors to procure materials and equipment. Prepare research reports and presentations. Collaborate with faculty members and graduate students. Required Qualifications

This position vacancy is an open rank announcement. Final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with Research Faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.1 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook ()

Research Engineer II: A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or A Doctoral degree.

Sr. Research Engineer: A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or A Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering, and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree. Preferred Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have a strong background in aerospace engineering and spacecraft navigation with a terminal degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related field. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in spacecraft navigation, estimation theory, or robot perception. Candidates should have experience with programming in both MATLAB and Python, though knowledge of other programming languages is also valuable. Required Documents to Attach
