Position Description

TIRRC seeks a Resource and Legal Line Coordinator to help reach and support community members in Tennessee with legal education, resources, and services. The responsibilities will include answering our phone line, assisting community members with resource referrals, scheduling legal immigration consultations, and providing general information about TIRRC’s mission and programs. The ideal candidate will be organized, empathetic, and committed to supporting our community’s needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage the line, providing timely and accurate information to callers;
  • Managing the flow of voicemails from callers and returning all voicemails within 48 business hours;
  • Assist community members with resource referrals and connect them with appropriate services and programs, including TIRRC’s citizenship program and other relevant initiatives;
  • Schedule legal intakes for community members in accordance with TIRRC’s case acceptance policies;
  • Track and record all calls for data collection purposes to support grant deliverables and to better understand community needs;
  • Forward client-related calls to legal team members who are managing specific immigrant cases;
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in handling callers’ personal information;
  • Participate in legal team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of phone line services;
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the legal team and the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Belief in TIRRC’s mission and experience with social justice;
  • Additional education or training in social work, immigration law, or a related field is a plus;
  • Preferred experience in a customer service or phone line support role, preferably in a nonprofit or legal environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion;
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in a second language commonly spoken by immigrants and refugees in Tennessee (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Kurdish) required;
  • Must have reliable transportation.

WAGE AND BENEFITS:

Hourly Rate: $22/hour for 20-30 hours/week

Benefits: All employees receive 24/7 access to an Employee Assistance Program. In addition, part-time employees receive paid sick time commensurate with the number of hours worked.
