The mission of the Division of Retirement is to deliver a high quality, innovative, and cost-effective retirement system to Florida Retirement System (FRS) pension plan members and their employers, so FRS members can plan for their financial future. The FRS is the fourth-largest public state retirement system in the nation, one that is comprised of more than one million active and retired employees. Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Conduct audits of the payroll and personnel records of participating agencies of the Florida Retirement System to determine the accuracy of reports submitted to the department and to assess the degree of compliance with applicable statutes, rules, and coverage agreements. Specifically, this role will:
Independently conduct follow-ups to ascertain proper action is taken on reported findings of the Office of the Inspector General. Such follow-ups require verifications of the current status of responses from auditees and communication of results with the Inspector General and Division of Retirement Management. Conduct special reviews of the Florida Retirement System and review the agency’s operations concerning retirement and social security coverage.
Maintain proficiency by continuing education through membership and participation in professional societies; attendance at conferences, seminars, college courses, and in-house training programs; or participation in research projects.
