Job Description - Senior Human Resources Generalist

Join Dior Construction as our newest Senior Human Resources Generalist ! In this pivotal role, you'll be at the heart of our organization, ensuring that every aspect of our HR function runs smoothly and efficiently. As our Human Resources Generalist we are looking to lean on your proven ability to not only ensure strict compliance with employment laws and regulations but also to promote a workplace environment built on positivity, collaboration, and mutual respect. You'll be instrumental in driving process improvements and crafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that streamline our operations and elevate our overall efficiency.

As a key member of our HR team, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of Dior Construction. Your contributions will directly impact the creation of a workplace environment that is not only productive but also deeply fulfilling and engaging for our employees.

Scope of Contributions:

Legal Compliance Oversight:

  • Ensure meticulous adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop, enforce, and update policies and procedures to align with legal requirements.
  • Provide HR expertise on employment laws and practices. Recommend and interpret guidance to clarify issues, resolve conflicting guidance, and/or alleviate potential problems.

Employee Relations Management:

  • Proactively address and resolve employee relations issues, maintaining a culture of open communication, fairness, and collaboration
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Conduct employee relations activities within the company according to established guidelines, sound practices, and in accordance with the organization's mission, values, and goals.

Process Optimization:

  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in HR operations and develop streamlined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance effectiveness.
  • Continuously assess and improve HR processes to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct research and develop/recommend solutions and process improvements on HR-related projects, processes, and policies aligned to organizational strategy, culture, and business practices.

Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee the administration of comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans.
  • Ensure employees understand their benefits offerings and assist with inquiries or issues.

Strategic Collaboration:

  • Work closely with senior management to develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Partner with business leaders to support all people strategies, including change management, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.

Onboarding/Offboarding Support:

  • Facilitate seamless onboarding for new hires, ensuring they are integrated into the company culture and processes effectively.
  • Create accounts for smooth onboarding/offboarding processes.

HR Programs and Analytics

  • Partner with HR to provide support in areas like talent acquisition, leave management, compensation planning and other HR programs.
  • Leverage people analytics to drive insights into action, with a focus on driving retention and engagement.
  • Utilize employee feedback surveys to analyze results and follow up on action items.
  • Support learning and development activities; help drive engagement and awareness of HR programs.

Guidance and Support:

  • Offer expert guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Address employee concerns or grievances in a fair and timely manner, maintaining confidentiality as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in human resources decision making with a strong emphasis on compliance, employee relations, and process improvement.

  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Strong analytical abilities with a track record of identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.

  • A strong understanding of the HR function, (including capabilities, processes, technology, operating model design, strategic competencies, policies, etc.)

  • Must have knowledge of employment regulations to include DOL, I9, EEOC and FLSA

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in HR software and systems, including HRIS and payroll platforms. 

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.

  • Proficient with Apple computers operating system.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Applications with SHRM or other HR certification are strongly preferred.

  • Experience with ADP or ADP Workforce Now

  • Google Admin experience highly preferred

Schedule and Location:

This is a full-time in-office/hybrid position. Your influence will be needed at our HQ in Bergenfield NJ Monday to Friday.
