As the Specialist, Human Resources, you’ll have a role in supporting HR policies, assisting managers and employees with day-to-day HR activities and compliance, and working with leadership to ensure HR programs and initiatives are enhancing the delivery of business results. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Monitor alerts in Supervision for driver CDL activity, log any that are actionable, and notify field management of any suspensions, downgrades, or other activity
  • Assist with monitoring the DOT verification of employment mailbox, and process verifications as they come in
  • Assist with audit of random substance testing results
  • Answer questions from employees related to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
  • Assist with the implementation and administration of services, policies and programs aimed at maintaining a safe, positive environment in the company
  • Complete periodic audits of employee information, including employment, compensation, certification, and status-change data; advise business partners on policies and operating practices
  • Ensure compliance, training and oversight on policies and procedures

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 1 year of experience in human resources
  • Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles, including planning, organizing and resource management

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or a business-related field
  • PHR/SHRM certification
  • Experience with HRIS programs such as Kronos and SuccessFactors (SAP), and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Solid attention to detail and solid organizational skills
  • The self-motivation to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships both internally and externally
