Turf Crew - Team Lead

• Responsible for mowing and landscape maintenance including the operation of zero-turn mowers. Provides other general landscape maintenance tasks including but not limited to edging, raking, debris removal, chemical applications, and general plant maintenance. In the absence of the supervisor, acts as the supervisor, which includes scheduling work/service requests, and giving day-to-day instructions.
• Responsible for landscape aeration including the operation of tractors with aeration implements at assigned areas on campus.
• Responsible for landscape overseeding including the operation of tractors with overseeding implements. Related duties may include the operation of topdressers and verticutters.
• Responsible for landscape site preparation, fertilization, sod removal, sod installation, and other general landscaping and groundskeeping responsibilities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned in support of Grounds and Landscape Operations including assisting the Irrigation Crew, Tree Crew, and Planting Crew. Operates utility vehicles and other vehicles as needed to complete assigned duties.

• Completion of ninth grade.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of this position to include frequent and repetitive movements which are not limited to, bending, stooping, standing, and walking for extended periods, climbing and descending stairs, reaching, and moving/lifting up to 20 lbs.
• A valid Florida or Georgia Drivers' License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
