Job Description - VP, Digital Experience

Job Summary

The VP of Digital Experience at Comcast Business will spearhead comcastbusiness.com's evolution, ensuring it embodies the brand's essence and achieves growth and engagement goals as a premier online destination. This pivotal role encompasses refining brand aesthetics, curating immersive content experiences, nurturing lead generation, optimizing user interface, and overseeing site functionality. Collaboration across digital, headquarters, and divisional teams is essential to elevate the online engagement experience, transcending the offline consumer journey for Enterprise and Small Business segments. This entails aligning marketing and product strategies to bring the brand to life digitally, integrating key product launches and promotional campaigns seamlessly. Central to the role is driving strategic digital transformation to enhance segment awareness, consideration, and engagement, particularly emphasizing expanding Comcast Business's online Enterprise and Government Services presence while catering to Small Business needs. The ideal candidate is deeply analytical, abreast of digital trends, has a strong creative sensibility and judgement, and skilled at cross-functional collaboration to influence eCommerce growth. Reporting to the CMO, they will lead and inspire a team in executing online strategies, overseeing day-to-day operations, and managing key performance metrics such as traffic, lead generation, and sales, thus ensuring sustained success in Comcast Business's digital landscape.
  • Develop the digital vision, roadmap and short and long-term plan to support the growth objectives for the priority segments – Enterprise, Public Sector, and Small Business.
  • Develop and execute digital content and promotional merchandising strategies that link the Sales & Marketing plan and key segment goals across acquisition, customer upgrade and retention.
  • Accountable for driving engagement, lead generation and conversion through effective user experience practices, breakthrough merchandising, and in partnership with the Commercial and Martech team, create a high-performing, end-to-end, online lead generation experience for both Enterprise and Small Business.
  • Informed by consumer data and insights, create world-class merchandising and engagement features and functionalities for a seamless customer experience to successfully attract and retain customers.
  • Partner closely with the Brand Marketing team to ensure understanding of the mass media and direct marketing campaigns to create a holistic business consumer digital journey considering paid media, brand, promotional and thought leader tentpoles, and SEO; all intended to drive traffic to comcastbusiness.com. In addition, ensure close alignment of the brand strategy, identifying segment profiles, and brand visual assets and content.
  • Key alignment with the Commercial Marketing team to integrate the vertical marketing strategy into the site experience, and enhance and differentiate the solutions proposition.
  • Develop an innovative digital test & learn agenda to provide insights on how to optimize and drive continuous improvement with the voice of the customer top-of-mind.
  • Stay ahead of digital marketplace trends to ensure comcastbusiness.com is competitively positioned.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of digital professionals supporting all aspects of the site management including setting priorities, workflow optimization, vendor oversight, technology requirements, and overall efficiency and efficacy of the online experience.
  • Partner with the Analytics team to coordinate, track and optimize key KPI reporting to evaluate the sales, revenue, and operating costs of the eCommerce business.
  • Provide insight to and collaborate across the organization, including Marketing, Technology, Sales, Product Management.
  • Work with Technology team to define architecture, infrastructure, and operational requirements to fulfill the eCommerce business strategy.
  • Responsible for the eCommerce platform with oversight of web design, UI/UX and associated eCommerce technologies.
  • Coordinate with IT to evaluate, launch, and maintain digital commercial technologies and solutions to enable the digital platform.
  • Oversee the design, functionality, and user experience of the eCommerce website.
  • Responsible for the digital calendar, plan of record, and budget.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced culture-first, collaborative leader with strong analytic and creative skills, deep digital experience, and highly adept at navigating a matrixed, consensus-driven organization. The candidate will have a passion for leading and influencing teams, a solutions orientation to drive innovation along with a proven and successful track record in ideating, developing, and delivering on a broad digital strategy in the B2B market.

  • Lead, coach and manage a high-performing digital team, cultivating a strong sense of “one team” across Comcast Business, fostering a growth mindset and servant leader culture.
  • Ability to translate an offline brand vision to the online channel with flawless and consistent execution.
  • Must be able to establish oneself as a thought leader and trusted advisor regarding the digital experience and ability to develop strong relationships with peers and work across functions to deliver a superior experience to customers.
  • Partner with a broad base of leaders to drive innovation, evangelize strategies, and gain alignment for tactical plans.
  • Ability to move quickly, adapt to new demands, priorities, and leadership styles, and is not afraid to challenge the status quo. 
  • Acts as a team catalyst and engages the team through his/her enthusiasm and excitement about the business and opportunity.
  • Ability to communicate the higher-level business and strategic goals of the organization to the team, external clients and partners.
  • Creative, diplomatic, cool under pressure and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and executional levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and can communicate complex digital concepts to a non-digital audience.
  • Proven track record in running a successful B2B/B2C eCommerce business in a highly competitive industry.
  • Demonstrate significant successes in online marketing, campaign development, acquisition, upsell/cross-sell and retention efforts.
  • Advanced online analytical, technological and operational skills.
  • Must have strong skills in strategy and planning, merchandising and marketing, and budget management.
  • Experience in eCommerce and Marketing, plus 15+ years in a leadership role
  • BS/BA college degree is required, MBA preferred.
