JOB SUMMARY: Produces a variety of parts by operating a variety of machines (brake presses, punch presses, shears, saws, and welding equipment) and work on paint-line as material handler, loading and unloading parts as directed by the lead person or by supervisor to comply with the production schedule. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Welds steel parts as specified by prints, diagram, work orders or oral instructions. Must have knowledge of mig welding Must be able to read prints and work orders. Must be able to set jigs, read tape measure and steel gauges. Must be able to perform minor maintenance on welding machines and guns. Must weld a quality product for production runs at standard. Must be able to operate abrasive saw, hand grinder, brake press , shear, punch press, mig welder, and other small hand tools. Must maintain production standards. Performs highly repetitive types of operations on welding and other equipment and as material handler on paint line. Maintains product quality standards. Must give accurate production reporting. Drive forklift. Performs other duties where needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have manual dexterity in both hands. Must be capable of bending and lifting 40-60 pounds. Must be capable of visually reading prints, work orders, production schedules, tape measures and gauges. Must be capable of verbally communicating. Must be able to drive forklift. Must have lung capacity to be capable of wearing a respirator for extended periods of time. RESPONSIBILITIES: Must wear required safety equipment. Must always work in a safe manner. Must follow all safety rules and company procedures. Must maintain standards of appearance in work area at all time. Must inform management of any problems you feel need attention (i.e. machine malfunctions, raw materials not available, defective steel, inability to meet required production, personnel problem, etc.) Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 06:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Overtime and extended hours may be necessary based on department needs.
