POSITION DETAILS
Baruch College???s Office of Diversity, Compliance, and Equity Initiatives (ODCEI) is one way that the Baruch College community demonstrates its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion by broadening outreach and recruitment, strengthening institutional diversity infrastructures, developing strategic diversity plans, and cultivating diversity awareness and appreciation.
The Diversity and Operations Specialist performs analytical, research and administrative support work to implement Baruch College???s recruitment, search, selection and retention activities and initiatives. The Diversity and Operations Specialist reports to the Executive Chief Diversity Officer (ECDO). As an administrator in the Office of Diversity, Compliance and Equity Initiatives (ODCEI), the Diversity and Operations Specialist also collaborates closely with the Deputy Chief Diversity Officer and Title IX/EEO Coordinator and many other students and colleagues in the Baruch College community on a regular basis.
The Diversity and Operations Specialist will focus on monitoring compliance with anti-discrimination laws, collecting required data, and creating reports for compliance, recruiting activities, and outcomes. Further, as a member of the ODCEI team, the Diversity and Operations Specialist will also contribute to diversity awareness programs aimed at promoting an inclusive environment for students and colleagues while engaging the Baruch College community as a campus diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) leader. This position provides engagement with many aspects of diversity and compliance as well as exposure to any and all professional development opportunities that are available to CUNY educators, practitioners, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) professionals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
??? Master of Public Administration (MPA) and prior experience working in a university setting. Understanding of ECDO role.
??? Experience working in higher education administration, employee relations, or human resources management
??? Experience in HRIS systems and survey analysis software; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting and collaboration tools.
??? Demonstrated leadership experience in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within an institution.
??? General understanding of Title IX, EEO/AA and Section 504/ADA investigations.
??? Excellent oral and written communication and advanced analytical and project management skills.
??? Demonstrated ability to work as part of a high-level administrative team.
??? Proven ability to work with sensitive and confidential information and situation with diplomacy and excellent judgment.
??? Strong organization, planning, analytical and problem resolution abilities with attention to detail.
??? Strong critical thinking, decision making, interpersonal, and organizational skills
