Your Day to Day: 

Job Summary 

IHG is looking for an Associate Manager of Planning to support the consolidated quarterly and annual planning process for the Hotel, Owner, and Commercial Product & Platforms (HOCPP) organization, which drives the delivery of technology capabilities and improvements by aligning our colleagues’ activities for planning and by implementing processes and supporting tools. This role will also maintain the consolidated organizational roadmap and the catalog of information on the high level capabilities which support our business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the respective HOC teams and leaders to deliver sound annual and quarterly delivery planning process, with plans that are aligned across the C&T towers and are linked to the key priorities. 
  • Ensure alignment with functional & regional teams by helping to capture their needs/opportunities as part of the annual and quarterly planning process.
  • Facilitate planning sessions with the respective product teams and other key stakeholders to complete deliverables as dictated by the planning process on a quarterly basis, resulting in consolidated PI plans for development and summarized workloads, back logs, and recent deliverables. 
  • Maintain consolidated roadmap for the Hotel, Owner and Property domains and highlight areas for improvement or growth and conflicts or dependencies across the application sets.
  • Maintain capability catalog, backlog information and key product information and overviews for the HOCPP organization.
  • Facilitate Intake Process for new HOCPP requests from stakeholders across the business.
  • Develop presentations and storyboards for new and upcoming functionality or core capability set to be delivered to the business, to gain understanding and support from senior management, ecosystem teams, strategic commercial teams and delivery and implementation teams.
  • Perform special projects where data & insights are required for planning or other ad hoc activities are needed to improve the efficiency of delivery within the HOCPP portfolio. 

What We Need From You: 

Education 

Bachelor's or Masters’ degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, Audit or Finance, Logistics, Strategy or a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienced. 

Experience 

2+ years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes related to the position as well as significant experience leading teams and/or significant complex projects. Process improvement and design, hotel operations, channel distribution, project management, and/or product management experience is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills and Knowledge 

  • Demonstrate product management experience in detailed product development discovery, feature writing and documentation, design work and PI planning preferred.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to corporate clients, senior management, and potentially hotel colleagues. 
  • Demonstrated strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to develop lasting business relationships across various business and technical disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to present new concepts, research findings, and business outcomes to various groups including corporate clients, senior management, and industry consultants. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hotel industry reflecting the customer experience lifecycle (shopping and booking through ongoing customer relationship management) and corporate function operations and initiatives relevant to hospitality (revenue management, loyalty, marketing, finance, legal, channel distribution). Experience with a franchise organization is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking skills that can relate micro level project events to macro level corporate strategy. Knowledge and ability to understand data analysis, performance measurement, reporting, and strategic business planning preferred.
