Job Description - Business Analyst, Network Balance and Equipment Optimization

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Line Haul is looking for a talented Business Analyst who will own analytics and develop solutions to drive insights and optimization for Network Planning and Forecasting. As a member of this team, you will have an opportunity to be a thought leader in Amazon Logistics and work with a group of talented program managers, product managers, research scientists, software developers, and business leaders to design the Amazon network of the future. This position requires excellent analytical thinking, ability to quickly approach large ambiguous problems and apply analytics, technical and engineering expertise to rapidly analyze, validate, visualize, prototype and deliver solutions. This position also requires significant cross functional work and integration with transportation, tech, operations and finance. Responsibilities: Perform complex data analysis to identify opportunities to reduce fulfillment costs as well as improve efficiencies and customer experience Design, develop and establish KPIs to monitor analysis and provide strategic insights to drive growth and performance Design, develop and establish KPIs to monitor analysis and provide strategic insights to drive growth and performance Ability to perform/own reoccurring and ad-hoc business intelligence projects Develop standardized metrics to evaluate and benchmark pertaining to short and long term network planning and forecasting Communicate complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing About the team
Equipment management is a $3B space for Amazon that NBEO can influence in the form of OpEx reduction, CapEx reduction, and sunk cost optimization. NBEO currently focuses on OpEx reduction and specifically the $550MM spent on empty transportation equipment one-way repositioning (TPA & CPA). NBEO ensures that transportation equipments (trailer or IM containers) are at the right place, at the right time to avoid DEA, and do it at the lowest cost by automating repositioning, managing equipment in-out flows (network balance), and influencing upstream scheduling, route planning and resource planning systems with the cost of equipment repositioning. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Atlanta, GA, USA | Bellevue, WA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
- 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with Excel
- Experience with SQL
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
