Job Description - Community outreach coordinator

Ultimate Charities is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a Community Outreach Coordinator. This role is crucial in fostering positive connections with the community, promoting engagement, and advancing the organization's mission. Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Outreach Planning:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive community outreach plans aligned with organizational goals.
    • Identify target demographics and tailor outreach strategies to effectively reach diverse community groups.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, leaders, local businesses, schools, and other stakeholders.
    • Act as a liaison between the organization and the community, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
  3. Program Promotion:

    • Promote organization programs, services, and initiatives through various channels, including social media, community events, and traditional media.
    • Create and distribute promotional materials to increase awareness and participation.
  4. Community Education:

    • Conduct educational sessions and workshops to inform community members about available resources, services, and opportunities.
    • Provide information on relevant topics to empower and uplift the community.
  5. Event Coordination:

    • Plan and coordinate community events, workshops, and outreach activities.
    • Manage event logistics, including securing venues, coordinating volunteers, and overseeing event execution.
  6. Needs Assessment:

    • Conduct surveys and assessments to understand community needs, preferences, and concerns.
    • Compile and analyze data to inform decision-making and program development.
  7. Collaborative Initiatives:

    • Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, and businesses to develop and implement joint initiatives that benefit the community.
    • Seek partnerships and sponsorships to enhance outreach efforts.
  8. Feedback Collection:

    • Solicit and collect feedback from the community to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach strategies.
    • Use feedback to make data-driven adjustments and improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Social Work, Communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Cultural sensitivity and a genuine commitment to community well-being.
