Responsibilities

This position will be on-campus at FSU Panama City in Panama City, FL.

This position directly supports the Office of Advancement by creating effective and engaging campus events and serves as administrative support for office marketing and development functions. While this position is a direct report to the Director of Advancement, it also directly supports the efforts of the campus Director of Development. The incumbent is expected to plan, coordinate, and implement donor, alumni, and special event functions to enhance both campus objectives and the goals of FSU Panama City Foundation.

Additional duties include:

Serves as an enthusiastic campus leader for community events on campus. Provides effective administrative support for all office functions, including purchasing, receiving, and budget reporting. Anticipates, plans, and responds to change effectively and demonstrates flexibility. Stays knowledgeable of events and fundraising trends in higher education. Participates in budgeting activities, budget decisions, and strategic planning. Develop strong partnerships and collaborations on campus and in the community.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to six years.) A valid Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area and two years of administrative/event experience. Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information. Ability to develop and implement a successful marketing plan/strategy. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of bookkeeping, budgeting, and cost control procedures. Ability to successfully support the planning, development, and implementation of a successful event. Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to flex with challenges and be a forward thinker; passion for details, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Helpful

A typical day would include: Managing and updating Excel spreadsheets for office budget. Submitting purchasing requisitions and receipts. Reconciling accounts and running reports. Managing event logistics including scheduling facilities, calendar invites, ordering catering, entertainment, speakers, and decor, invoicing sponsorships, transmitting, and depositing payments. Sending invitations through traditional and digital media. Engaging with committees and taking meeting minutes. Setting up and breakdown event venue. Managing event registration. Updating program script and talking points. Processing payments and honorariums. Exploring ideas for new events and or fundraisers. Working with other departments to plan and coordinate events.

Anticipated Salary Range

Salary range low $40,000.00, commensurate with education and experience.
