Addison Group (Los Angeles) seeks an Accounting Director to join a fast-growth and diversified marketing and e-commerce company.
Job – This Director of Accounting will be involved in full-cycle corporate accounting functions, including financial statement prep and reporting, audit, overseeing financial closes, journal entries, credit card reconciliations, and account reconciliations. You will also pitch in whenever needed in Operations. You will report to a Controller. You will have a couple of direct reports to manage.
Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote ) – Our client has a hybrid work schedule of 1 to 2 days/week in the office, although right now it is a less frequent work schedule in the office.

Compensation/Benefits – Salary range for this role is from $150,000/year to $185,000/year. Our client supplements base compensation with flexible work hours/vacation days/sick days, bonus (annual and KPI monthly) + equity.
DUTIES OF THE DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
· Handle all core corporate accounting functions, including posting all relevant entries and inventory transactions
· Prepare journal entries and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
· Handle all inventory, purchasing issues, production, sales, expenses, and liabilities
· Supervise fixed asset accounting tasks (taking stock of property, plant, and equipment)
· Work with the Inventory Department in ensuring proper recording of inventory adjustments
· Assist with the design and implementation of internal controls procedures (i.e. revenue recognition, inventory/cost accounting, payroll, and expense reporting)
Financial Reporting
· Responsible for overall financial reporting (income statements, balance sheets, reconciliations, reporting, financial analysis, fixed asset register, cash flow forecast and GL.)
· Oversee revenue recognition process
Process Improvement
· Identify opportunities to innovate and streamline operational processes
· Assist in implementation of all possible financial and accounting procedures and systems
· Work with HR Manager to ensure that proper HR practices, contracts and operations are in place
Miscellaneous
· Manage key functional departments and projects from logistics processes to warehouse optimization
· Assist in all internal and external audits
· Assist in all compliance issues, including all internal control issues
· Assist in all tax issues
· Accept ad hoc projects
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING
Required
· Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business Administration with an accounting focus
· General Ledger (G/L) accounting experience
· At least ten (10) years of work experience, including at least two (2) years of Big 4 work experience
· Managerial experience
Preferred
· CPA
· Stint as a Manager at a Big 4 Accounting Firm
· Consumer Products Goods (CPG), E-commerce, and/or fast-paced industries experience

· Expert-Level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)
