The Role

As the Director of Events, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with Lumen’s goals and objectives. You will oversee the planning, execution and evaluation of all types of events, from webinars and town halls to conferences and trade shows. You will also manage a team of event coordinators and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a high-quality and consistent brand experience across all events.

The Main Responsibilities

+ Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy that aligns with Lumen’s goals and objectives.

+ Manage a portfolio of events, including: trade shows, destination events (e.g., Circle of Excellence event), internal town halls (1000+ attendees), internal and external streaming events, Board meetings, and Customer Advisory Board meetings (in-person and virtual).

+ Oversee the end-to-end process of event production, from ideation and budgeting to logistics and execution. Source and manage relevant 3rd-party vendors.

+ Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, such as Sales, Product, Brand & Creative, Product & Solutions Marketing, Corporate Communications.

+ Ensure that all events are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

+ Measure and report on the effectiveness and ROI of each event, using data and feedback to optimize future events.

+ Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in event marketing, and identify new opportunities and platforms for event promotion.

+ Build and lead a high-performing team of event specialists, and provide them with guidance and support.

What We Look For in a Candidate

+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.

+ At least 10 years of proven experience in event marketing, preferably in a B2B technology company.

+ Strong knowledge and skills in event planning, production, and management, across various formats and channels.

+ Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders.

+ Creative, strategic, and analytical mindset, with the ability to think outside the box and solve problems.

+ Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

+ Proficient in using event management tools and software.

+ Willingness and ability to travel as needed, depending on the event requirements.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$128,310 – $171,080 in these states: AR ID KY LA ME MS NE SC SD

$135,060 – $180,080 in these states: AL AZ FL GA IA IN KS MO MT ND NM OH OK PA TN UT VT WI WV WY

$141,820 – $189,090 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$148,570 – $198,090 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
