Job Description - District Manager Transitional Program

at WM in Dover, Delaware, United States

Position Location:

This is a Remote Position and may travel 75% of the time to WM Market Areas throughout the US. Balance of time will be working remote/virtual.

Position Overview:

The Business Optimization Leader role is designed to get you propelled as a Future Leader in our Organization at the District Manager level in our Operations and/or Fleet Departments after 12 to 18 months.

+ Must be willing to relocate anywhere in the US and/or Canada and move into a Leadership role.

+ The onboarding process for this role includes both virtual and onsite learning opportunities with other experienced business optimization leaders. During this time, you will be immersed in the WM Way principles, processes, and systems required for successful operations

This is not an Entry Level Position. We are looking for high level talent with 5+ years of experience and background in Leadership, Training, or Business Process Optimization ( BPO ).**

Ideal Candidate/Preferred Qualifications:

+ Background in Leadership, Training, or Business Process Optimization ( BPO )

+ Leadership potential including ability to influence up, down, and across the organization

+ Demonstrated ability of hiring and developing talented individuals

+ Experience in Transportation, Logistics or Service Industry (preferred)

+ Bachelor’s degree or MBA

+ Has good career progression

+ At least 5 years’ experience (Required)

+ Ability to travel 75%

+ Ability to relocate to a WM Market Area throughout the US and/or Canada

Job Summary:

As the Business Optimization Leader, you will work with site leadership to train Operation, Fleet and Dispatch Leaders as well as other Department groups to align business solutions with the company’s strategies and initiatives.

Your Goal:

Providing high level of business expertise while conducting complex business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses to align business solutions with the company strategy and initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the assigned essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and duties may vary by department.

+ Works with management, and individual team leaders by contributing strategic vision and integrating a broad range of ideas regarding business solutions development.

+ Coordinates and integrates multiple enterprise solutions projects with a large scope and complexity in an environment for business change.

+ Contributes high level expertise in business processes and systems analysis while considering the business implications to the current and future business environment.

+ Responsible for deliverables, cost, schedule and quality of one or more enterprise solutions projects.

+ Plans projects, allocates and directs less experienced staff and other resources to accomplish project tasks and maintain control over the project(s).

+ Works with internal and external customers, suppliers and other partners to resolve problems, respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancements, test, refine and institutionalize solutions.

+ Drives the project(s) and the organization toward achieving business results.

+ May act as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff demonstrating coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no direct reports but may occasionally be responsible for delegating assignments and tasks on a project basis. Also, may be assigned coaching/mentoring tasks to help develop less experienced team members.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

Normal setting for this job is an office setting.

The expected salary range for this position is $91,875 to $137,292. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a bonus.
