About the Position Brooklyn SolarWorks is seeking a professional and punctual individual to occupy its Driver and Logistics Coordinator position. The incumbent will mainly be responsible for providing support to the warehouse team in all warehouse activities and function as Brooklyn Solarwork's primary driver for canopy (solar equipment) deliveries between NYC and Rhode Island. The individual will be responsible for operating company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of materials. Responsibilities: Drive small sized duty trucks between NYC and Rhode Island approximately once weekly in any weather.
Drive small sized duty trucks locally in NYC facilitating solar deliveries daily .
Support warehouse logistics including but not limited to packing materials, receiving deliveries, recording inventory, cleaning and organizing, trash management, etc.
Loading & unloading vehicles.
Ensure all delivery materials are stored and firmly secured before transportation and upon arrival.
Organizing & labeling materials in a safe and orderly fashion.
Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods and material.
Keeping the warehouse environments clean and tidy.
Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move/store inventory.
Carry out additional duties as required by the Warehouse Manager. Required Skill Set Highschool diploma required.
Valid Driver's license is required.
Clean Driving record is required.
Excellent navigation skills and proficiency using navigation apps.
Forklift certification is required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
Experience driving a forklift is preferred.
OSHA 30 + 10 hrs SST is preferred.
At least 1 year of relevant experience.
Physically able to lift, loan, and unload 50lbs or more.
Ability to bend and twist and climb steps.
Required to stand, drive or walk for long periods at a time.
Team-oriented and friendly disposition.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Ability to travel and work irregular hours.
Ability to work independently and under moderate supervision.
Punctuality, Good Attendance and Time Management skills are required.
Familiarity with basic power tools is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Preferred Skill Set
