Job Description - HR Assistant

Our client, a leading global manufacturing company located in Franklin Furnace, Ohio – is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join their team and support the Senior Regional HR Manager! This is a newly created position, so having someone eager to learn and grow in an ever-changing environment is important. This  HR Assistant position offers an excellent opportunity for development and growth within the HR space, as well as exposure to various aspects of HR operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment. If you have 1+ year of HR experience under your belt, then keep reading!  HR Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Regional HR Manager in day-to-day HR activities and initiatives
  • Provide day-to-day support in their Franklin Furnace, Ohio location, with occasional support for their Ceredo, WV location as well
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews and conducting background checks
  • Support onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases accurately and confidentially
  • Assist in administering employee benefits programs and addressing employee inquiries
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs
  • Assist in handling employee relations issues and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HR initiatives align with business objectives
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department as required
HR Assistant Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred is required
  • 1+ years of experience in HR, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, logistics or similar industries
  • Experience in recruiting is essential
  • Knowledge of union policies and procedures is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ideally has exposure to Kronos and UKG, but not required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Motivated to grow and advance in the HR field
