SUMMARY
Reporting to the Maersk & Fuel Manager, the Junior Fuel Accountant will be responsible in supporting the Fuel Accountant and the Maersk & Fuel Manager in reviewing internal fuel records and data submitted by external parties.
The ideal candidate shall have basic finance knowledge and or background, mainly related to invoicing and auditing process.
The role is instrumental in ensuring fuel invoices are audited and processed with highest levels of accuracy, and the purchase orders are issued following the defined processes and guidelines
The Junior Fuel Accountant position is based at Amerijet’s corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida. The candidate must possess the right to work in the United States.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following, but not limited to):
The Junior Fuel Accountant:
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS;
Establish strong, trust-based working relationships with the Maersk & Fuel Manager and Amerijet’s leadership team.
Support the Maersk & Fuel Manager in: (i) developing and implementing processes, policies, procedures, and systems; and (ii) addressing some of the critical issues and opportunities.
Be independent and manage the process under the Junior Fuel Accountant responsibilities, and any other assigned tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
This position requires a high school diploma and/or equivalent.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Basic knowledge in Finance, mainly related to invoicing, audit and GL basic principles.
Desirable experience in logistics, aviation, or related area positions/companies.
ERP system (MSD365 is a plus). Basic knowledge of MS Office Products and data mining and reporting is a plus.

Excellent analytical skills are essential.

Mathematical ability: ability to perform simple and complex mathematical and statistical computations and calculations.
Microsoft Excel and data mining and analytics: Ability to perform data mining, and analysis, using pivot tables, vlookup, etc. Query’s and other more advanced knowledge will be considered a plus.
Microsoft Word + professional writing: Ability to write professional letters and other communications.
Microsoft PowerPoint: Ability to put together a professional presentation in a creative and consolidated format.
ERP and other systems: Previous experience working with ERP systems (MSD 365 is a plus).
Inductive reasoning: the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
Inter-personal relationship: the ability to deal and work with people and compromise diversity in views and opinions.
An unblemished record related to his or her ethical integrity and that of the organizations he or she has served.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
Job is mostly office based sitting however may require some standing and walking.
Availability for some planned travel, if needed.
