Job Description - Korean Bilingual Production Control Manager / San Antonio, TX / Others / DIR-SIM

Summary of Functions

A tier-one auto body parts manufacturer in Kyle and San Antonio, Texas. The
Production Control Manager supervises, establishes, and coordinates the flow of work and materials according to production schedule. The duties include reviewing and distributing shipment schedules, conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates, and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems. These d uties may also include evaluating system performance and recommending improvements for high quality, cost effectiveness and excellent customer services. You will be asked to work cross-functionally, interfacing with engineering, production, and planning to ensure production goals are being met.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Determines production requirements and understands orders; estimate time and materials requirements; and checks inventory status.
  • Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders to determine materials requirements and priorities.
  • Lead and manage the department, projects, and resources to optimize production for on-time delivery.
  • Lead inventory control activity and annual physical inventory planning.
  • Prepare work order and purchase order exception reports and execute corrective actions to ensure on time delivery.
  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Establish project schedules by coordinating departmental requirements and estimating shipping dates.
  • Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess. completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate and lead all planning and production scheduling; inventory control; warehouse operations; logistics integration.
  • Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, to complete status reports.
  • Provide business analysis and process/system development to optimize transactions and provide required information to the operation in a timely manner to optimize materials management performance Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related fields preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in production control (supply chain/inventory/shipping) at an automobile manufacturing company preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload.
  • Team player with high energy and a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Overtime expected and required on short notice, with flexibility based on plant production schedules.
  • Strong math skills, with capability of understanding and conducting basic arithmetic and statistical operations.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, and value engineering preferred.
  • Ability to quickly recognize errors and inconsistencies in numerical data (good analysis skills).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Physical Requirements

Work is considered low physical work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds. Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform low physical work indoors with minimum exposure to dust. Walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, standing, grasping, balancing, climb, kneeling, and crouching are generally required for some assignments.

  • Demonstrate the ability to hear and have specific vision abilities to adjust focus, in an environment subject to noise, dust, etc.
  • The office is located inside the plant with equipment noise and frequent interruptions such as phone calls and contact with staffs.
  • Perform all work safely in a fast-paced work environment.
