Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the organizing and dispatching finished goods to the carriers. The person in this role will receive finished goods from manufacturing and Scan & Shape, prepare them for shipment and release them to the carriers. They are also responsible for ensuring the fulfillment area has proper supplies and workflow to meet the increasing daily outbound orders to Straumann customers.

 

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Gathers, verifies, and packs items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used
• Interfaces with SAP and CAMDB support to resolve system failures to generate needed documents
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and orders as needed
• Packaging and labeling out outgoing shipments for repair and special shipments to other subsidiaries
• Records shipped items according to established procedures
• Provide back up support as a production technician, as required by the business
• Inspect incoming materials ordered per purchasing guidelines, material specifications and GMP criteria
• Receive, secure and dispense raw materials, tools & packaging/labeling per local procedure and GMP/ISO requirements. Accounting for in plant materials in SAP and local materials use/production productivity statistics for management
• Perform backup purchasing function as needed

Physical Attributes:

• Observe and hear warning signs and signals within all areas of the company.
• Stand, Walk, or Sit up to 8 hours a day (with periodic breaks allowed)
• Occasionally push/pull up to 50
• Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
• Wear synthetic gloves
• Wear toe protection/safety shoes

 

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment
• The employee may occasionally be exposed to dust
• The noise level in the work environment is consistently moderate
• The employee will work in a fast-paced, team environment

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years experience in a warehouse/distribution environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to learn shipping modules for various carriers and CAMDB interface
• Basic MS Windows navigation experience
• Good communication and organizational skills for interface with multiple functions and sites
