What You'll Do

  • Be exposed to many aspects of logistics management (rail/truck, carrier selection, negotiation) at multiple levels of the organization (from manager to driver)
  • Contributes to Supply Chain goals including the utilization of Preferred Supplier contracts and new sourcing opportunities.
  • Responsible for overseeing the selection and negotiation process of van/flat bed carriers for selected warehouse locations
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to follow directions and work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment with shifting priorities while staying organized and detailed oriented
  • Delivery scheduling and communicating with drivers while maintaining excellent customer service
  • Regularly communicate, interact and coordinate with internal and external customers
  • Manage and allocate export contracts for shipment
  • Organize various components to form single shipment
  • Gather, calculate and file Customs export data
  • Navigate challenging shipping issues that regularly occur
  • Keep yards updated with schedule changes

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 5 years' experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal, research, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal) required
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking & organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Looks for opportunities to solve issues in partnership with transportation and logistics – works to proactively prevent problems before they occur and to troubleshoot when problems do occur
  • Performs analysis and makes recommendations in support of longer-term strategic logistics opportunities
  • DOT Manual compliance and regulations knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask responsibilities daily
  • Ability to adapt quickly to fluid transportation circumstances
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics is critical
  • Working knowledge of logistics and supply chain activities

Your Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
