JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for the ECCN , HTS and/or USML classification of US materials, equipment, and technology. The position will also address deemed export reviews and potential licensing requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
· Classification of US materials, parts, subassembl ies , finished goods, machinery, equipment, and technology into the correct US ECCN , HTS and/or USML.
· Determine any potential US export licensing requirements based on the ECCN classification of export shipments and deemed export reviews.
· Ability to also classify products, technology, and software against ITAR regulations and the United States Munitions List.
· Work with site operations, business units, and other functional units to ensure that all import and export activities are effectively managed to meet all applicable import and export rules and regulations.
· Develop and implement effective import and export compliance processes to ensure compliance with all import and export rules and regulations.
· Act as an internal consultant with all regional sites, business units, and internal / external customers for import and export compliance issues.
· Proactively identify areas of compliance risk, and present risk assessment and improvement plan.
· Administer and maintain general record-keeping requirements in compliance with Jabil corporate and Customs for imports and export regulations.
· Develop resolutions to a variety of complex problems involving issues such as classification, assists , country of origin and marking, valuation, export screening, ECCN and License determination, and technology transfers.
· Maintain close working relationships with Regional Trade Compliance Managers and the Trade Services Teams.
· Assist with the Export screening process.
· Assist cross-functional teams with special import and export-related projects to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
· Maintain metrics on import/export and compliance-related statistics.
· Provide support in ongoing compliance audits.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
· Excellent communication skills
· Possess the ability to analyze and interpret Export and Customs regulations and customer requirements.
· Leadership/people-management skills
· Knowledge of Import, Export , and Security operations and regulations
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
· Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable the company’s business goals and objectives with the ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.
· Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.
· Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.
· Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and managing continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
· Strong and convincing communication skills.
· Proficiency in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor's Degree required . Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or International Management preferred.
· Seven (7) years work-related experience required in Business, Supply Chain, or Compliance.
· Experience in U.S. trade compliance and government security administration.
· Experience in export and import compliance positions.
· Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
