Material Plan Supervisor

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As the Material Plan Superivor you will ensure a steady flow of materials needed to keep the production line operating. You will team up with Owens Corning Corporate partners to ensure the Memphis plant maximizes productivity and minimizes cost associated with planning to meeti customer demand. Conduct inventory management of all raw materials and finished goods.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with all safety and plant requirements individually and hold other team members to the same high standards of safety
• Participates in the safety, quality, autonomous maintenance training, TPM, 5's and housekeeping programs as established within the plant
• Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production
• Oversee all materials ordering, confirm and process orders through SAP for raw materials to support production requirements; assign purchase orders to requisitions
• Develop and maintain a weekly ,monthly, and quaterly cycle-count schedule and spot counts as requested
• Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with sales, production, and other relevant departments to accurately forecast material requirements and align procurement accordingly.
• Document and escalate supplier issues / non-conformance
• Provide releasing, tracking, and expediting materials to meet production requirements
• Evaluate and adjust inventories of raw materials and finished goods material codes to ensure accurate and reliable inventory balances.
• Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records to avoid unnecessary detention/demurrage charges.
• Managing and communicating inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations
• Accountable as primary liaison with centralized PSS, Inbound Logistics, and Marketing and Planning to ensure communications are maximized for items affecting finished goods and raw material inventory, asset management, and customer satisfaction.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two or more years of material planning, inventory management, purchasing, in manufacturing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of SAP
• nventory Management and Control
• Sourcing and Knowledge of Product Lines
• Strong analytical and problem-sloving skills

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Wear required PPE equipment (safety glasses, bump cap, steel toe boots, ear protection, heat/cut resistant gloves, long sleeve shirt, and face mask)
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES

• Profficiency in Microsift Office and material management systems
