Job Summary:

Supervises the team members responsible for unit pick-up /delivery. In some markets, may occasionally cover a route to clean and maintain port-a-potties, hand-wash, hand sanitizer, etc. stations, coordinates satellite location team, and ensures customer satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Market Leader / GM depending on location size.
  • Schedules and supervises Route Drivers, Pick-up and Delivery Drivers, Mechanics and Yard staff in daily tasks and operations.
  • Ensure quality excellence in terms of service and inventory
  • Works with leadership to provide feedback for ongoing and scheduled performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Reviews day-to-day operation needs and ensures staff activities are safety focused & customer needs are met. Exact responsibilities vary by day, season, and location and include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists manager in efforts to reach profit, performance, and quality service goals.
  • Supervises drivers, mechanics, and yard team members.
  • Ensures safety standards are achieved in partnership with GM through assisting with reviews, coaching, and enforcement.
  • Facilitates weekly spot checks, and ensures appropriate action (relocation, cleaning, retraining, etc.) is taken.
  • Daily interactions with dispatch and customer care to ensure activities are aligned.
  • Inventory Management including, but not limited to, regular audits of equipment (supplies, vehicles, and units - quality and quantity), creating or ensuring that all licensing/tags, repair scheduling, product/supply orders, and/or replacement planning with Market Leader / GM, and rebranding is complete.
  • Works to meet unit performance standards including operation controls, safety and compliance with policies and procedures. Assists in the reviews of operations manuals, procedures, and policies ensuring that staff are properly trained and correctly utilizing PPE, equipment care, customer communication and safety.
  • Educates new team members on safety standards, performance expectations, as well as safe machinery operation.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
  • Ensures that all vehicles receive basic service receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor. Follows disinfecting and safety guidelines.
  • Ensures team assignments and responsibilities are reasonable, balanced, and adapted to business unit seasonality.
  • Filling in on routes, P&D, or yard activities, when necessary.
  • Completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day, adapting route as business conditions change.
  • Flushes, empties, and cleans units; performs other services required to maintain or repair units, tanks, and system.
  • Cleans and disinfects areas affected by sewage.
  • Ensures that all vehicles receive basic service receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor. Follows disinfecting and safety guidelines.
  • Assists in general yard & maintenance duties when route is completed. Requests and/or orders necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Updates maps and routes assigned, providing feedback to routing team.
  • Maintains and develops positive relationships with existing and prospective clients, demonstrating excellent customer service and setting an example for other staff.
  • Weekend, evening hours, & on-call hours required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of equipment, units, trucks and repair.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate all tools and equipment.
  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
  • Ability to follow and communicate directions and procedures with limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate with dispatch, customers, and leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Driver license required with 3 yrs good driving record.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.
  • Proficient in office & financial software, route logistics or similar software with the ability to learn and implement new online & logistics tools.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 75-100 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to climb and crawl as required to access units.
  • Able to speak with customers, team members and leadership on the phone.
  • Able to handle strong odors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 50 per week
