Paralegal - Intellectual Property

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is partnering with a national law firm in the search for an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal for their Dallas, TX location. In this role, you will support attorneys in the field of intellectual property law, focusing on patent litigation and prosecution. Additional responsibilities include electronic filing with federal district courts, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and the International Trade Commission (ITC); managing deadlines; knowledge of patents, trade secrets, copyrights, and trademarks; monitoring litigation and patent/trademark applications; conducting research; assisting in IP litigation by drafting pleadings, researching case law, preparing exhibits, conducting discovery, and communicating with relevant parties. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing legal documents for submission to government agencies such as the US International Trade Commission, the US Department of Commerce, USPTO, and US District Courts.
• Provide case management for patent litigation in federal district courts, appeals before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and actions before the US International Trade Commission, USPTO, and Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
• Manage the discovery process, including coordination of electronic and paper discovery, depositions, transcripts, and trial support.
• Prepare for and attend depositions and trials, including logistical coordination and witness file preparation.
• Draft various motions and pleadings, conduct Bluebook/Cite checks, proofread, and assemble exhibits.
• Coordinate service of process and courtesy copies.

Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of IP Litigation experience, including managing Section 337 matters before the US International Trade Commission.
• At least 5 years of experience in patent and trademark litigation in federal district court.
• At least 5 years of experience in patent proceedings before the International Trade Commission.
• 2 years of experience with USPTO inter partes review (IPRs) proceedings.
• 2 years of experience with USPTO patent and trademark prosecution.
• Proficiency in electronic filings using Pacer CM/ECF and USPTO systems.
• Willingness and flexibility to work overtime, occasionally on short notice.
