Position summary:

Responsible for building item level demand forecasts across assigned portion of the product portfolio in support of the NCP Solutions Lab business. This position contributes directly to the success of NCP by providing tactical and strategic analytical support to determine the most accurate forecast, driving effective monthly Demand Reviews to a cross-functional leadership audience to enable business unit decision-making. Main point of contact for NCP commercial functional teams collaborating on demand scenarios, root cause analysis and explanation of performance, identification of risks and opportunities and reconciliation of variance to organization’s financial commitments to deliver targeted service for NCP Customers while minimizing inventory write-off exposure.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Build a rolling 24-month demand forecast by item by shipping DC for assigned portion of the NCP product portfolio.
  • Analyze product and customer performance to inform item specific forecast assumptions.
  • Utilize available syndicated data to analyze trends related to consumption, distribution, incremental mix in development of demand plan.
  • Work cross-functionally with Brand/Category, Finance, Sales, and broader Supply Chain teams to align on key demand forecast assumptions focused on driving forecast accuracy improvements.
  • Work with customer sales teams to ensure customer events are accurately captured in forecasted plans
  • Develop conclusions and make recommendations about forecast opportunities and risks to maximize business unit performance.
  • Serves as key participant in S&OP, leading discussions about key business drivers impacting the forecast including monthly Demand Reviews to an audience including key members of the business leadership team.
  • Provide visibility to sales forecast in the format, level and detail required by all customers. Communicate changes timely including underlying documented assumptions.
  • Develops processes to drive consistency in demand plan generation, with expectations of continuous improvement.
  • Own system setup accuracy for responsible items, DC's to ensure system operates accurately.
  • Understand customer specific inventory strategies in collaboration with customer facing supply chain to deliver accurate order/shipment forecast.
  • Face of the supply planning function to the business relative to service and fill rate
  • Support NCP Supply Chain establishing of standard methodologies and foundational processes

Financial/strategic impact: This role has a significant and direct impact on:

  • Demand Planning metrics and the overall Supply Chain process.
  • Inventory & Distribution Planning and options within safety stock, network set up, transportation strategy

Requirements and minimum education level:

  • Undergraduate degree required.

Experience:

3+ years of meaningful operational experience at market / business level is useful, in at least one of the following areas:

  • Performing market, category, product or competitive analysis
  • Sales Forecasting / Demand Planning
  • Factory Scheduling; Supply Network Planning; Procurement
  • Supply Chain Development
  • Experience in the following processes would be highly beneficial - Product lifecycle; Manufacturing; Distribution Planning / Logistics

Skills:

  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities

  • Experience utilizing syndicated data sources including IRI/Neilson and other POS systems
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and manipulate data from complex sources to draw conclusions
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills resulting in action-oriented recommendations
  • Advanced skills using applicable software (Excel) and computer applications to generate analyses and reports
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to set priorities and meet objectives in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a project-oriented environment
  • Strong organization and time management skills
