Hack.Diversity is transforming the economy by breaking down barriers for Black and Latinx professionals in tech. We recruit and place early-career professionals from marginalized backgrounds into software engineering, data analysis, and mechanical engineering roles at major companies, and work with those companies to build inclusive and equitable working environments. Founded in 2016 as a project of the New England Venture Capital Association, “Hack” has grown into an independent nonprofit organization and a movement of belonging in the tech workplace. We are on track to connecting almost 400 Fellows into jobs at more than 50 employers to date. ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Associate Director of Fellow Success, the Program Associate supports a small team of Program Managers who are responsible for Cohort success, managing Fellows from application through onboarding, skill development, and placement at technical roles at some of Boston’s most sought-after companies. A mix of administrative tasks along with instruction & coaching and community-building, this role is tailored for a person who is passionate about direct service program management and workforce development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage each Cohort’s progression through the Hack.Diversity calendar – from recruitment to selection to onboarding, mentorship matching, curriculum completion, internship progress and alumni transition.
  • Design and deliver virtual learning and skill-building for Fellows on topics ranging from career readiness to interview preparation and self-advocacy skills.
  • Lead logistics for virtual events including creation/updating of slide decks, securing guest speakers and instructors, and tracking Fellow engagement.
  • Collaborate with Partnerships team to understand how Fellows’ profiles align with the needs of internship roles. Ensure our Fellows are ready to intern.
  • Lead the engagement and coaching of your caseload of ~15 assigned Fellows through virtual messaging check ins and monthly calls. Track and log their engagement and success, connect them with needed resources, and monitor their progress during their internship placement.
  • Source potential Hack.Diversity Fellow candidates. Build relationships with colleges, universities, bootcamps and other pathways. Screen applications and resumes, and interview candidates.
  • Stay updated for weekly internal reporting, and track year-over-year metrics for external reporting
  • Attend community and social events geared toward Fellows, Alumnx, and Host Companies (anticipated 1-3 evenings per month)

Requirements

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Coaching, teaching, mentorship, career services, skill development or other instructional experience
  • Facilitation and community leadership experience, with a preference for leading events and programming virtually
  • Effective, efficient, and detail-oriented project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated and able to multitask in a dynamic organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in a mission-driven program role, technical recruiting, curriculum development, or career services.
  • Knowledge of the tech and innovation job market and workforce development trends
  • An understanding of or experience in managing junior technical roles

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $45,000 - $65,000 base salary commensurate with experience and potential
  • Up to 10% annual performance-based bonus on top of base salary
