Reporting to the Director of Faculty Affairs, the Program Manager for Faculty Affairs will support the Director in managing the wide array of faculty administrative functions within the School of Engineering and Applied Science. This role is vital for assisting with faculty actions specifically managing shorter-term appointments of academic support staff, maintaining detailed records and ensuring policy compliance. Will pay a key role in organizing and documenting faculty meetings, coordinating faculty development programs, and facilitating the faculty awards nomination process. Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities
Assist in the management of faculty appointments, promotions, and records for academic support staff; assist the Director with reporting on these activities.
Provide logistical support for faculty development programs, including maintenance of a detailed calendar of faculty affairs events and liaison with the Dean's staff to ensure calendar alignment for faculty affairs engagements.
Support the faculty awards nomination process, including development and maintenance of an award nomination calendar, collection of documents for award nomination packages and follow-up.
Coordinate communication efforts and updates to the faculty affairs website, faculty directory, faculty listservs and online faculty affairs procedure manual.
Liaise with internal offices and departments to facilitate collaborative initiatives and serve as a point of contact for faculty inquiries related to administrative processes.
Take minutes and manage documentation for school level faculty meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of experience in academic administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred: Experience in faculty affairs or human resources within an academic setting, proficiency with academic software and systems, and a background in event planning or project management.
