Your Mission Critical Tasks:
- Support the purchasing / procurement group with elevating to the next level of process improvements and performance.
- Maintain current purchasing / procurement operations.
Procurement / Purchasing Specialist - What You Will Do:
You will support operations through purchasing / procurement including:
- Ordering, receiving, and tracking material.
- Generate purchase orders.
- Enter purchase order data into accounting software
- Manage purchasing and procurement record keeping (purchase orders, receiving documents, bill of materials, shipping information, invoices)
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipping and receiving issues.
- Collaborate with vendors regarding material purchases, questions and materials price negotiations
- Compile and review product submittals (with assistance from Project Manager)
- Work directly with the construction field team, including ensuring the field team is accountable for the proper material purchasing process and protocol
- Request and review weekly MSRs (manufacture status reports). Communicate any material delays or inaccuracies to the team.
- Identify process improvements and bring them to the team – we want your ideas and to make your voice heard!
You might:
- Supervise 3-4 purchasing team members including serving as their escalation point
- Participate in monthly financial review
Procurement / Purchasing Specialist – You Have:
- Task and deadline oriented personality – you are a driver of initiatives and a get-things-doner. You are bold and disciplined.
- A keen eye for detail – You pride yourself on review of the details and identifying any errors / inconsistencies
- Resourcefulness – if you don’t know the answer, you will go find out!
- Construction procurement experience in purchasing construction goods and services, negotiating contracts, inventory management to achieve cost savings
- Ability to locate new construction suppliers or vendors, interpret contractual language
- Ability to buy from existing suppliers and vendors and resolve order disputes
- Must be able to collaboratively work in moderate to high-volume environment and able to prioritize workload independently based on procurement department priorities and goals
- Ability to communicate and follow through on construction material orders and services for internal management, accounts payable and field staff
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Procurement / Purchasing Specialist – You Might Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, math or business related education
This role requires successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen prior to start date.
Your compensation $65,000 - $75,000, salary exempt, depending on experience with rapid promotion path.
