Job Description - Regional Service and Operations Manager

REIC is seeking a Regional Service Manager to oversee our ten locations. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the operation of the service departments.
  • Train, lead, and monitor service expectations.
  • Oversee and optimize dispatch of field technicians and efficiently manage logistics.
  • P&L of the service departments. Ensure shops are focusing on rent ready equipment and prioritizing accordingly.
  • Monitor costs and efficiencies.
  • Oversee and approve large or major repairs within the region.
  • Foster a positive customer and employee relations atmosphere.
  • Review & analyze department data to meet sales and profit goals.
  • Ensure staff are adhering to company policy and procedure while monitoring all work in progress.
  • Oversee customer communications regarding equipment repairs as needed.
  • Process and review work orders, invoicing, and customer quotes
  • Analyze and manage service metrics, i.e. annual inspections, preventative maintenance, down equipment, etc.
  • Purchase order acquisition and coordination
  • Ensure fleet is maintained and repaired to expectations.
  • Be safety oriented and hold staff to same expectations.
  • Willing to manage staff including hiring and firing.
  • Run service meetings with store managers.
  • Vendor negotiations
  • Travel (60% +) to locations to assist in general operations and service management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Assist regional VP in daily operation.
    • Assist in managing fleet distribution and movement within the region to maximize profitability.
    • Fill in and assist in managing locations when necessary due to staffing.
    • Perform store audits.
    • Inspect locations during visits and assist in managing, i.e. overall efficient operation, fleet condition, rent readiness, safety, etc.
    • Perform interviews and assist in hiring Branch Managers within the region.
    • Assist in managing personnel
      • Training and performance management
      • New hire training
      • Wynne training
      • Recruiting
      • Terming
      • Assist in managing branch productivity.
      • Perform customer credits.
      • Be willing and able to assist in other operational aspects as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of previous service management experience is preferred.
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Strong leadership skills are a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Good customer relations and people skills
  • Ability to successfully manage others.
  • Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to navigate and operate general computer applications such as word, excel, and power point.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will talk/hear; frequently will stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms; occasionally will walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. taste/smell

  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequently will lift up to 10 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
  • Must be willing to travel 60% of the time or more. Covering states including Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming
  • Be willing to assist location in general mechanical repairs.
