Overview: Are you ready to take charge of an exciting opportunity in the heart of Texas? We're seeking an Area Sales Manager - Central to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll lead the charge in expanding our network of independent wholesale distributors while fostering collaborative relationships across our sales organization. Responsibilities: Cultivate strong relationships with independent wholesale distributors in the HVAC market space, focusing on residential, design-build LC HVAC, and plumbing distributors. Collaborate with manufacturer's rep agencies to foster relationships, expand distribution, and provide comprehensive product support and training. Conduct thorough training sessions for customers, emphasizing brand positioning and technology, including side discharge residential whole home systems, ductless mini-split systems, and light commercial/VRF systems. Drive achievement of planned residential and light commercial sales targets and market share through strategic distribution development. Develop actionable plans with distributors and reps, covering financial performance, territory coverage, and sales competency development. Coordinate with various teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and top-notch promotions, installations, service, and support. Create and implement contractor recruitment and sales plans in collaboration with distributors. Conduct distributor training sessions focused on product quality, consultative selling, digital implementation, and profitable growth strategies. Address distributor needs promptly and effectively, fostering long-term partnerships and resolving conflicts efficiently. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices with sales leadership and regional managers. Qualifications: 5+ years of outside sales experience. Associate's degree or higher required. Preferred experience in Independent HVAC distribution within the region. Willingness to travel up to 30-50% within the United States. Exceptional relationship-building skills and proficiency in business planning with distributors and markets. Strong presentation skills, both in-person and remotely, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Self-motivated individual capable of working independently while aligning with organizational objectives. Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional departments (pricing, product, logistics, marketing, service, etc.). Proficiency in sales, operations, and technical knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC products and services. Proven track record in developing and implementing successful distributor growth strategies. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Knowledge of two-step distribution practices and operational procedures of residential HVAC contractors. Effective conflict resolution skills. Strong financial acumen, including the ability to assess true opportunity costs and enhance selling strategies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
