**Job Title: Development Associate - In-Kind & Special Events****Job Overview:** This role is responsible for executing a range of relationship-based philanthropic functions to support the annual and strategic fundraising goals. The primary focus areas are in-kind appeals and special events. You will serve as the primary relationship manager for an assigned portfolio of prospects and donors, with a concentration on in-kind supporters. Your responsibilities include building strong relationships through the philanthropic cycle of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. **Essential Functions:**- Expand the in-kind giving function to meet program needs - Conduct four annual in-kind drives: Back to School, Halloween, Holiday Helper, and Spring - Develop and implement a specific action plan for the Holiday Helper as a major in-kind activity, growing both components (sponsor a family drive and toy drive, including an annual classic car show/toy drive) - Coordinate with program staff regarding general drives, special appeal needs, wish lists, and activities - Coordinate in-kind drives/service day activities as cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship opportunities (e.g., hygiene drive, book drive, coat drive) - Work with program staff to coordinate and participate in on-site events - Collaborate with program leadership on solicitations based on client needs - Work with the Senior Director of Development to identify corporate sponsorships - Provide information to Communications regarding drives and social/media - Coordinate with Communications on updates for the in-kind section of the website - Have overall responsibility for organizing the annual special event, working with a volunteer committee and leadership: - Develop master action plan, timeline, checklists, and status reports - Organize committee and subcommittee meetings, prepare rosters, notices, agendas, and minutes - Identify and work with all event vendors (venue, food/beverage, rentals, program, event software, entertainment, décor, etc.) - Coordinate all facets of day-of logistics, from set-up to clean-up - Conduct appeals as assigned (e.g., silent auction) - Work with the Development Coordinator on tracking in the CRM system - Work with the Senior Director of Development and Board members on house parties or other cultivation/solicitation events - Participate in the organization of cultivation and stewardship events (e.g., Board installation, open houses, groundbreakings) - Investigate and identify a fundraising project for a young professionals group - Participate in Development team and cross-team meetings - Participate in Development cross-functions and Development-Communications cross-functions as needed - Other duties as assigned **Qualifications:**- 2-3 years of experience in a nonprofit philanthropy/development department or function, with major event planning knowledge - Bachelor's degree - Willingness to drive for in-kind and event activities in Southeast Los Angeles County - Ability to work night and weekend activities as needed - Must have a valid California Driver's License and Insurance **Benefits:**- Monday-Friday schedule - Hybrid schedule after 90 days (2 days remote) - Full benefits package after 30 days of employment, including 100% employer-paid premiums for HMO Health, Dental, and Vision plans - 401(k) plan with 4% employer match - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) & Employee Discount Program (LifeMart) - Paid Time Off (PTO) accruing up to 15 days annually, increasing with seniority - 12 paid holidays annually - Paid office closure during the last week of the year - Opportunity for growth - $66,000-72,000/year starting pay, dependent on experience and skillset Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $ 66,000.00 72,000.00 Per Year
