Position Title: Training and Communications Specialist Location: Bethesda, MD (Remote work available with preference for Eastern Time Zone candidates) About Us: We are currently seeking a passionate Training and Communications Specialist to join our team at a renowned medical library in Bethesda, MD. Our mission is to support the learning and development needs of our library patrons by delivering engaging training programs and facilitating effective communication. Role Overview: As a Training and Communications Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing our training functions and fostering meaningful interactions with our external stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely, with occasional on-site support for special events. Responsibilities: Facilitate training functions for the Consultation and Training Branch and the Training Team. Coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person training sessions and workshops. Provide instructor support for both virtual and in-person classes, offering live chat assistance during sessions. Serve as the Technology Support Lead, overseeing programs and events via Zoom and Zoom Webinar. Manage the training calendar and course catalog, ensuring accurate scheduling and availability. Assist in tracking metrics, managing post-class surveys, and preparing comprehensive reports. Organize and maintain Training Team content on the MS Teams platform. Support the Asynchronous Training Subgroup by reviewing online tutorials and assisting with closed caption creation. Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding the Library's Training Program. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Education preferred. 2+ years of experience providing training and communications support. Expert proficiency with virtual conference platforms, particularly Zoom; familiarity with Teams is essential. Experience hosting and moderating Q&A sessions for webinars. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with website content management systems, such as Drupal. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and follow-through. Experience in a federal, research, or academic library environment is advantageous.
