Position Highlights

A full time position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Vladimir Vladimirov working on statistical and bioinformatic analyses of large genomics data in blood and brain tissues. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded, enthusiastic individual and will assist with genomic data. The position offers the opportunity to work in an exciting laboratory environment that employs a wide range of molecular and behavioral assays.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Under Drs. Vladimirov and Drake's mentorships, the incumbent will collect and organize genetic data from postmortem brain tissues derived from patients with mental disorders and addiction.
  • They will assist Drs. Vladimirov and Drake in the preparation and writing of reports from the analyses performed by Dr. Drake.
  • Assist Dr. Drake in collecting publicly available genetic data from well known sources such as NCBI and Ensemble.
  • Assist Drs. Vladimirov and Drake in organizing the analysis results for informal and formal disseminations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
  • Detailed oriented, conscientious, and able to follow instructions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with using bioinformatic packages for the analysis of GWAS and RNA-sequencing data.
Experience using statistical approaches, such as linear, logistic, mixed, and multivariate regression analyses.
Experience with various coding languages, such as Python.
Experience in using R and Linux commands.
