Position Purpose: Provide analytical and operational support for manufacturing as it relates to scheduling. Ensures production schedules meet customer orders and forecasted demand in efficient and timely manner. Evaluates schedule(s) to maintain inventory levels. Must understand specifications, interpret production schedules; and deal with inventory transactions that result in adjustments, receipts, consumptions, and/or transfers.

Principle Accountabilities

  1. Utilize existing processes and implement new processes and strategies as needed to manage scheduling needs.
  2. Implement strategy for best practices to identify new and/or unique programs to balance and reconcile inventories on a weekly and monthly basis.
  3. Support Finance and Supply Chain management with all data analysis. This includes an analysis of late orders, customer service levels, and inventory reconciliation.
  4. Responsible for internal communications and presentations related to key performance metrics, program updates, and on-going program information.
  5. Investigate and analyze potential risk and system weaknesses, and other matters of significance, and provide implementation solutions to improve processes.
  6. Coordinates functions of Production Planning and Inventory management to ensure an orderly system of providing information and product to satisfy customer service demands.
  7. Must have an excellent knowledge of all IPG Blythewood production areas and the product flow through each area.
  8. Be responsible for the timely planning/scheduling of all orders in assigned finished goods grouping and keep the number of past due orders to a minimum.
  9. Knows and understands the capabilities as well as limitations of all production equipment as it relates to maintaining good customer service and smooth production flow.
  10. Is the back up for other members of Supply Chain when vacations are taken, or sick time occurs.
  11. Stocking levels are to be established by Corporate with input from the Planners and Sales force. Once established the goal is to maintain the inventory level within +/- 5% of the established level.
  12. Constantly monitors the planning and scheduling processes for accuracy and validity, analyzing problems and recommending solutions.
  13. Works with Product management and other departments to establish stock levels of work-in-process and finished goods inventories to satisfactorily obtain desired Customer Service levels.
  14. Manage other Supply Chain related projects as required.
  15. Purchases packaging materials, supplies and other inventory items as call for in the MRP following established guidelines and procedures set forth by management.
  16. Track backorders, arranges with vendors for delivery and notifies the department managers as to the expected delivery dates.
  17. Complete purchase orders in PRISM and Basware as required. Performs data entry and update of purchase orders on computer and logbook as required.
  18. Maintain good housekeeping standards in assigned areas. Performs all duties following established safety procedures and guidelines using assigned safety equipment.
  19. Related tasks as requested by supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Business or Supply Chain related majors or equivalent work experience in related position.
  • Prefer 1-5 years of experience in operations, logistics or manufacturing of high volume consumer products. Recent graduate with relevant course workload or internship may substitute for experience.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Some educational or working experience in supply chain functions of planning, inventory management and logistics.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to make recommendations from a large data set to drive performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting set deadlines .
